Journey of Tamil Nadu Volunteers
Our initiative was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, under the visionary leadership of Shri Hari Krishnan N, an independent volunteer. Driven by the spirit of service, he mobilized a vast network of volunteers, uniting individuals with a shared mission to serve society. Shri Hari Krishnan N is also the Project Head of “Anaivarukkum IIT Madras” (IIT Madras for All), launched by the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, ensuring premier-quality education is accessible to all.
Today, Tamil Nadu Volunteers boasts over 10,000 active members, contributing to disaster management, environmental conservation, education, and social welfare efforts. Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, including students, professionals, women, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders, forming a dynamic force for good.

Our Impact
Disaster Management
From the Michaung Cyclone to the Wayanad Landslide, our volunteers have consistently risen to the occasion, providing immediate relief and long-term recovery support. Efforts include:
- Rescuing vulnerable individuals and providing essential supplies.
- Mobilizing over 1,000 volunteers to support flood victims.
- Collaborating with the Kerala Government for effective landslide relief operations.
Environmental Conservation
We actively participate in initiatives like the Chief Minister’s 1 Crore Palm Plantation Mission and other green programs, planting over 1 lakh trees and transforming schools into green spaces. Our campaigns inspire communities, including schoolchildren, to contribute to a sustainable future.
COVID-19 Pandemic Response
During the pandemic, Tamil Nadu Volunteers played a pivotal role in managing war rooms, providing free ambulance services, distributing dry ration kits, and ensuring safe transportation for migrant workers. We supported over 200,000 COVID-19 patients and their families, demonstrating unwavering commitment during the crisis.
Education Support
Education is a cornerstone of our mission. We promote learning through:
- Soft skills training and motivational programs.
- Building smart classrooms in government schools.
- Supporting children from marginalized communities, including the Narikuravar and Irular tribes.
- Hosting the Ezhudhuga Event, where 100 students authored and published books.
Social Welfare and Tribal Upliftment
We provide essential support to tribal communities, including food, medical care, and education. Our volunteers actively work to empower differently-abled individuals through self-employment opportunities and consistent support.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, Tamil Nadu Volunteers envisions:
- Empowering 10,000+ youth leaders to champion social causes.
- Strengthening government initiatives through active collaboration.
- Creating a volunteer forum “UDHAVI”, a real-time service platform modeled after Swiggy/Zomato, to fulfill community needs swiftly and efficiently.
- Driving environmental sustainability and green initiatives across Tamil Nadu.
